Peer Review Process
First Monday publishes original research papers about the Internet and related technologies. Papers submitted to First Monday are examined by at least three reviewers for originality and timeliness in the context of related research. Reviews generally are completed in 30-60 days with publication in the next available monthly issue.
Publication Frequency
First Monday appears on the first Monday of each month. In addition, special issues may appear on the first Monday on each month or on an irregular basis.
Open Access Policy
First Monday is one of the first openly accessible peer review journals solely on the Internet, about the Internet. All of First Monday’s current and archival content is available freely to anyone with Internet connectivity. Authors retain the rights to their work published in First Monday and may freely make their papers available as they see fit. Contributors to First Monday are encouraged to dedicate their work to the public domain or to select a Creative Commons license.
